Thread: 3GX App...?

Anyone got any info on when Align are going to release the 3GX phone App & bluetooth its pain in the but using laptop.

No one seems to know. They've not said anything themselves about it since the 3gx was launched either.

I do not know anything either, but I shall pose the question to Keith@Robbe and see what response I get.

It will be a real bonus for this unit, as like the Vbar there is a lot that can be changed with a PC. The plus point for the Vbar's is the Android app and BT connection making it a lot simpler for people with a smartphone.

If he comes back with something at least we're in the picture! otherwise my only option is to purchase a small laptop as near to pocket size as poss.

Yeah. Works out bloody dear if you don't have a laptop already! I had an old Dell so I was lucky.

This has given me a good idea we have a very small laptop at work that gets used on site work so I could poss use that.

yeah, any old thing will do, as long as it can run .net framework apps. You'll need to install that first before you install the 3GX stuff. Get it from Windows update if you dont have it installed already.

I'm using an old Centrino based laptop with XP and 1.5GB of RAM and it's fine on that.

Hey Buddy.

Sorry, I chatted with Keith today and asked him. Nothing been mentioned yet, it seems like the GPS module is not far away though from what I gather. He also told me about the new firmware, but I was asked to keep it quiet until it went live and it did just today it seems.

This new firmware seems to rely more on having a PC to do more with it, reference the flip & roll rates now needing to be adjusted via the PC rather than using the swashplate mixes.
