Default 3GX Dead as a Dodo..

Hi Just a quick question, do you have to have both satellites connected to the 3gx for it to come to life?
I was going to start the mechanical setup on mine today but I only have 1 satellite RX at the moment.
I plugged the bec pro in, the 1 satellite and the usb lead to the PC, but nothing... no lights and a 'failed usb link' message.

Bugger... do you have to bind the radio to it first?

Indeed... it's a failsafe, so you can't accidentally set the heli into limb removal mode

Do you say it does not power up at all with sat connected,I have seen this myself with one.

It's nothing to do with the TX as at that stage you wouldn't have been able to bind it to one anyway.

Fresh out of the box if you plug one or two sats in and power does it light up,,,it should do.

We did this with the bind plug in for initial binding but the unit was dead,as a Dodo as you say.

But I did get it working.........

Well you couldn't have bound a tx for it to not be seeing anyway at this stage.

This might sound silly but I had this in a warm house but by warming the unit up by covering it with your hands for a couple of minutes the unit then fired up and we could bind it,and set it up and to my knowledge this unit has not played up since.

There are longstanding reports of non binding in cold conditions,I have also seen two units do this and discovered the solution at our field to make them work.

The problem you have and I had are different to this of course but they must be related.

Well I've just been through it again,
Power up the bec Pro, confirmed it has 5.12V at the output plug, tried it in the Thr & Batt positions, and tried it with the bind plug in. (1 sat rx)
    And nothing.....

You have to insert the bind plug and power up the 3GX, then power up the transmitter in bind mode by holding the Trainer/Bind button while you power it up.

If you're not even getting a flashing LED when you power up the 3GX in bind mode, are you sure you have the power plug the right way round?

    Hi,
Yes the power plug is in correctly, but no led, flashing or otherwise...

Warm the unit and try again

You have done everything correctly to usually expect to get life out of it.You have the exact same problem I had.
