Really? I've tried all the simulators except Aerofly 5 and have found Phoenix to be better than the competition in terms of heli simulation. AFPD seems pretty limited for helis and the physics are pretty poor compared to Phoenix.
Maybe I'll have to try Aerofly 5 on my Mac. Just a shame there's no demo to try.

Thank you for that. I have, however, shelled out my cash and am the proud owner of Aerofly Pro Deluxe for Mac. Since I cannot get it to recognise my DX7, a cannot speak for the accuracy of the physics, although the electric heli (with no Tx!) spins up and pinwheels most convincingly. I'm pretty sure the physics of both sims are way ahead of
Y capabilities, and since I am a reborn aeromodeller, new to wirelessI just need lots of what is apparently called "stick time" amongst the cognoscenti.
f8… and be there
I am a real novice too.... but the ability to set up your Tx and software to the actual heli you have, is so much better than just getting any stick time.
For example...... I try some of the easy training helis in phoenix.... then back to my actual heli setup and it is chalk and cheese.... much better to train on as near to the setup you would have for your actual heli.... in my very uneducated opinion. (having already lost a nail from rotating blades!!!!????)
Good luck any way and enjoy.
